At the Regional level in Fulton County, the team continued their streak of success, earning top-ten finishes in both the Chopper Challenge (7th) and the Gummy Bear Launch (10th).
Distinguished PBIS School Award
Kemp Elementary School has been honored with a plaque designating it a Distinguished PBIS School for the 2025–2026 school year. This award recognizes the school's unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment. Remarkably, this marks the second year in a row Kemp has earned this prestigious distinction.
Student Enrichment
Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
We have deepened our commitment to Social Emotional Learning (SEL) by scaling the Caring Adult in the Building (CAB) initiative. Through this program, students are sorted into "Houses" that embody core SEL principles. These House groups meet monthly to engage in specialized lessons focused on essential character traits like empathy and honesty, fostering meaningful social growth across the student body.
Athletics: KES Cheerleaders
Kemp Elementary students showcased their school spirit and athleticism through a variety of team sports, including Flag Football, Basketball, Soccer, and Cheerleading.
Our KES Cheerleaders delivered an outstanding performance at the All-County Competition, taking home First Place in the Advanced category! Additionally, our basketball program celebrated a standout individual achievement when a third-grade student placed third in the District 3-Point Shootout—a remarkable feat while competing against a field of fifth graders.
The KES Soccer Team continued their excellence with a Final Four finish.
Academic Competition
Kemp Elementary students showcased their intellectual strengths across a variety of academic competitions this year. Our teams proudly represented the school in the Math Challenge 24, the Helen Ruffin Chapter and Picture Reading Bowls, and the "Hear Our Voices" Literature Competition.
We are especially proud to celebrate two 5th-grade standouts in the "Hear Our Voices" event: Morgan D. was recognized for her insightful essay, and Natalie F. earned honors for her moving poetry.
Fine Arts
Our fine arts programs continue to shine at Kemp! In the All-County Art Competition, fifth-grader Amira E. earned an Honorable Mention for her striking piece, “Goldfish.”
In our music department, the Music Club proudly represented us in the District Honors Chorus. Beyond the competition, our talented musicians provided the soundtrack to our school year, creating memorable performances for our Veterans Day, Winter Fest, and Black History Month celebrations.
Patriotism and Community
Our students took center stage recently when Kemp Elementary was selected for Atlanta News First's "Pledge of the Day." Beyond the excitement of being on air, this initiative allowed our students to explore the deeper significance of the Pledge of Allegiance. They also received a unique lesson in broadcast journalism, learning directly from a professional reporter about what it takes to bring the news to the Greater Metro Area.
The 4 E’s: Enrollment, Employment, Enlistment, Entrepreneurship
To inspire a clear vision for life beyond graduation, our Specials teachers introduced our scholars to the "4E’s" of Future Success: Enrollment, Employment, Enlistment, and Entrepreneurship. > Students explored Enrollment through university tours and admission requirements, while preparing for Employment by practicing interview techniques and "Dress for Success" strategies. The curriculum also highlighted Enlistment opportunities and culminated in a vibrant Entrepreneurship Fair, giving students a comprehensive look at the many paths available to them.
